Ellie Kai

Bringing a brand to life,
one stitch at a time.

Ellie Kai approached BRIGADE to capture their one-of-a-kind story in a full and epic rebrand. Ellie Kai’s Made-For-You fashion manufacturing model offers classic silhouettes and custom fit through online sales and local trunk shows. BRIGADE helped Ellie Kai tell their dynamic story by building a clear narrative and creating compelling digital media and print collateral. We then took that story online with a complete overhaul of the Ellie Kai website. We developed a playful but still sophisticated site with a wide array of pages highlighting the many facets of Ellie Kai.

To establish a foundation of brand-consistent assets, BRIGADE helped creative- direct shoots for an extensive photo library through mood boards and valuable reference. By creating and maintaining the right look and feel, BRIGADE ensured that the essence of the Ellie Kai brand would animate every photo in the brand library.

We paired these photographs with elegant type to design beautiful print and web ads promoting Ellie Kai at every consumer touchpoint. Web ads, trunk show materials, publication ads and posters were all critical for generating brand awareness.

Among many storytelling components in the new Ellie Kai website, BRIGADE created a visual tool to quickly and concisely introduce viewers to brand with a three-part module highlighting fashion, customization, and hand craftsmanship. We also explored a series of icons representing classic symbols of fashion design like the dress form, needle and thread, and tape measure.

To tie it all together, BRIGADE was tasked with refining the Ellie Kai logo, through sleeker lines and thoughtful spacing which accentuated the natural angles of the letters in the company name. With the finalized logo and brand guidelines, we then built an extensive brand book for Ellie Kai.
